I am thinking about purchasing a Audi A4 2012 Quattro with 55k miles. I found it at a Audi dealership and they are selling the car for 21k. The the car is Audi Certified so I get bumper to bumper coverage for 2 more years or until 100k miles. I know its a German car and it will be more money for maintenance and I will follow the schedule strictly if I do purchase it. Do you guys think its worth picking up? What kind of costs is usually standard with a car of this model and year? Is there anything in particular I should be asking the dealership about when purchasing this vehicle? Again its Certified Preowned so I feel confident about that.

I did but I was hoping I could get more information out by posting about preowned vehicle reliability

Cars from 2012 and up are almost completely fine, I listed the common concerns by model year in the buyer's guide mentioned above. The price you mentioned seems reasonable for a car of that year with that mileage, assuming a clean Carfax, but make sure it's a Prem+ or a Premium with the lighting package at least.

Audi Certified Pre-Owned will give you some piece of mind. It covers 2yrs from original 'in service' date or 100k miles, whichever comes first. A 2012 model very well likely could have been bought in late summer or fall of 2011, meaning you really might only have 1 more year of CPO warranty. Also you may want to check what CPO covers. Its not a full 'bumper to bumper' warranty. It is a limited warranty that does not cover a lot of common 'maintenance' items like tires, brakes, clutches, CV boots, bulbs, etc.

    Just some things to consider.

As other people said, it will really depend on the condition of the car. You can easily tell whether or not it was taken proper care of by looking at the paint and interior. I bought a 2010 A4 Premium plus (Quattro) back in mid 2013 with 35k miles and have had 0 issues since I bought it; I am just past 80k miles at this point. Below are the maintenance I have done and approximate pricing:

oil changes (Royal purple 5W40 + Mann filter, $40 +$10)
one change of brake pads/rotors ($400 for front/back rotors, $150-$200 for pads)
NRG double laser platinum spark plugs ($40-$50)
I would have gone through 1 set of tires at this point but I have switched wheel setups several times.

Use Tires-easy for great prices on tires
Use Rock-Auto for great prices on maintenance parts
