Is there a trick to removing the Intake Control Valve?

Also referred to as the INA valve? It's the "thing" at the front of the intake cam that helps retain the cam bridge.

According to Allowncer's directions this is a LEFT threaded valve so it will need to spin to the right to come off.

The problem is I can't seem to hold the intake cam in place and the chain just jumps teeth while I'm trying to spin this thing off. It's either got 6,000 ft/lbs of torque on it or I'm doing something wrong.

If you have the lower cover off you can take heavy zipties or even rope and pull the chain tight by squeezing the chain together to act as a temporary tensioner. This same trick comes in handy putting the chain back on if you replace it if you don't have the cam sprocket retainers. You can do this until you get the tensioner clip removed . It is left hand threaded. I also believe there are flats for a wrench behind the intake gear. You could have someone hold it in place while loosening it.

    That did the trick! Thanks!
