Yesterday I went over to Eurocode in Torrance. My primary reason was because as much as I love the power of this car, I hate the boat like feeling and the extreme body roll when making turns. When I had the car lowered in VCDS, I would rub on hard turns on stock wheels with spacers. The parts installed yesterday were:
- Front/Rear Swaybars
- Front/Rear Endlinks with dust boots
- Transmission mount insert
- Both differential mount inserts
- Alu Kreuz
I chose to go with Eurocode for the inserts over 034 specifically because they offered it in black and I could get it all done at 1 time here. The black makes it look stock and unless you know exactly what to look for, you wouldn't know it's there. The inserts definitely make an improvement. It's noticeable and considering how cheap they are, it's a must upgrade. There is no noise in the car at all.
The sway bars, endlinks, and AK - Body roll is significantly reduced. They were installed together so I can't speak to the difference that each of them make, but in hard turns, the car doesn't rub anymore. The AK replaced a piece that looked similar however the stock part was thin and while decent, the AK is absolutely not flexing at all. That thing is rock solid and thick. On the freeway, you feel the road more in the steering. This might not be the right comparison but my wife's old 335 had really good steering and ground feel. I felt like I could maneuver that car so easily in traffic. I'm very surprised that the RS7 feels similar to that now in terms of road feel and maneverability. The car handles much nicer. Had it handled like this the first few times I tested an RS7, buying this car would have been a no brainer. All this power and great handling. I went with the dust boots on the endlinks because they are oiled up and should prevent me from having to replace any parts in the future.
Total install took about 3 hours. Looks like I have a leak in my factory exhaust below - I'll probably get that fixed up when I put the downpipes on later this week. Anybody think it would be better for me to have the dealer fix that?
