Cheap Coil-over set... Has anyone tried these?

The price is rediculous, are they any good or is this another case of "you get what you pay for?"

Also what coilovers have you found are a good bet for daily driving (with an agressive overtone).

Just starting to take a look into this.

I'm always told you get what you pay for when it comes to coilovers. Have you thought about the Solo-Werks coilovers? JHM have used them on their S4's I believe.

Coilovers are the best example of "you get what you pay for". Racelands are junk, I'd advise against solowerks too. A couple buddies had them and they didnt last very long.

I have Vogtland coils which I really like for daily driving.

I have the Vogtland GTs and I like them for daily driving as well.

But yeah like others have said, coilovers are very much a 'get what you pay for' item (is there an echo in here? lol). Had Racelands on my B5 and they were terrible. I guess if you want to go really low for really cheap then that is the best option...

Great stuff guys, I'm not shy to spend money if its worth it... I'd much rather spend a bit more money and be happy with a purchase.

    Thanks

I'll soon be at the point of suspension upgrade and if I go down the coilover route then I'll be going for Vogtlands as well. Can't justify (to the wife!!) spending £1500 plus on KW V3 as I only do about 3k miles a year. After a lot of research, the Vogtlands seem to be a good compromise for me.

Buying better CO's will end up saving you money imo. If you end having to replace the crap ones early, thats money you could've saved by buying better quality CO's. I've always had good luck with KW V3's.

For the Solowerks? Once he had about ~30k miles on them the shocks began to feel very worn out and the ride got rough/bouncy. He wasn't that low either.

The other guy hit one pothole and the front shock was toast. This was on stock size tires, and a good coilover should have had no problem handling it.

Good timing on the thread OP. I have been leaning towards Vogtland GT myself.

They seem to be a good mix of comfort and performance, and making the car look good.

Sounds like the Vogtland GTs are a good bet for my application... the min drop is only .5" which shouldn't be too bad on stock rims for winter driving.

I wish you were in Alberta, or I was in Ontario. We could have ordered them together to save some cost
