    Installing control arms orientation

    So I noticed that while l I have one strut Tower with the upper control installed on the steering knuckle and the control arms will install over the top of the steering knuckle inserting downward into them. When I try to set up the other one which I believe is the passenger side the control arms I have seem to want to install from the bottom going vertically into the steering knuckle which is opposite of the other one. The control arms have the letters L & R printed on them. What am I doing wrong, am I doing something wrong?

    Both upper control arms insert from the top.

    Another way of stating my problem is that all the documentation I see shows the little control arm with the rubber boot that sticks up on the top of it should go closer to the track rod. But perhaps it's okay to have them opposing? Well I have one strut Tower ready to go on the car with the control arms prepared to drop vertically into the knuckle. But the other one I would have to switch the shorter control arm with the little rubber boot on the top of it to the front side of the strut Tower on the opposite side of the track rod. But it seems to me like both upper control arms should go in the same spot on the control arm on both sides? I like the long one supposed to go in the front and the shorter one with a little bit on top is supposed to go closer to the track right.

    Curved arm with the bump goes to the back. Straight arm goes to the front.
