Thinking to let go my S5 V8 AWE track exhaust and replace with

interested in sale of awe track.... I think there was a big debate on the armytrix due to some discoveries of poor manufacturing and performance loss. Maybe search around

I remember that thread. OP, do your homework iirc there were major issues with that exhaust.

yeah, a friend of mine gave me the link. I'm keeping AWE for now and will add non res downpipe.

AWE track has to be the best sounding exhaust for per dollar. I'm working on getting one on my S5, I just did wheels recently and suspension so need some recovery time lol. Some of the valve ones are awesome but I couldn't justify spending what $4,000 for a exhaust system for "this car".

But if you want louder you could get non res downpipes. My friend runs that combo on his 2008 and it sounds unreal, the downpipes add a little more rasp for sure. And it's damn loud.

That's my plan for now, my shop is quoting appx 8hr of labor to install the DP - is that normal?

If he charges $20-$30 per hour, sure.

WOOOOAH. Just installed my non-res downpipes in 1.5 hours. 8 hrs??? That sounds extreme.

My current setup is AWE touring catback + AWE non-res downpipes. It's LOUD.

armytrix issues was on a frakensteined v6sc only specific to that one user. I wouldn't discredit that exhaust just from that one incident if u are really interested in it imo.

with that said, awe track with non res dp is the best sounding exhaust for the buck imo on the v8 s5

armytrix is valved I believe so its good if u need to be "quiet" at times
