Climatronic Diagnostic codes? Yes? No? How?

Simple question: Does the Audi A4 B6 spit out codes through the Climatronic display like a lot of the other models do?

IF SO, please tell me how to get into that system. I've searched for details, seen a few youtube videos, but can't get any of them to work for me. For the heck of it, I took a picture of my panel, and even numbered the buttons (yellow numbers). Yes, I know that my panel is dusty as h*ll

Please describe the exact order to press any of these buttons (and the ignition key, of course) to get into the diagnostic menu.

It would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks.

BTW, I have and use a generic OBD2 code reader, but I don't think I can get all of the same information through there unless I have some better software than the generic stuff. If there IS a (hopefully cheap/free) software for my laptop, I do have a USB adapter cable to connect to the OBD2 port...

There is no way to display Climatronic fault codes directly on the dash control unit. VCDS must be used to access fault codes.

VCDS Lite is free, however limited.

Ok, thank you. I took a peek at the "VCDS Lite and will give it a shot.

And just to be clear, those videos of people accessing that long list of sensors/codes through the climate controls/displays is available to a few other stock Audi vehicles, but just not the B6 A4. Right? Also, if that is the case, any guesses why they skipped it on some but not others? Maybe it is a newer feature than the B6?

    Thanks again!

Displaying fault codes in the dash control unit is not done anymore. MMI may have more, but I don't know.

You also used to be able to blink the codes via the check engine light on the OBD1 cars
