    Timing issues

Hey guys got a few questions about timing.

I never used a cam bar always did it by making my own marks. Issue is after lining up the crank at TDC the cams are both aligned but are of center, as in they don't sit straight across, they sit at and angle, I know they don't sit perfectly straight across but these are deff not in line. Not sure exactly how to get these back in time with the crank.

Question is what is the process of fixing it with a cam bar, if anyone can explain the steps on get these cams back in line with the crank that would be awesome.

Might be a dumb question but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

    Thanks in advance

You really should have the cam lock bar and the crank pin...

With the belt off and the cam gears loose manually rotate each cam until they are oriented correctly. You should have the valve covers off for this so that you can check the notches with the cam caps. Loosely put belt over cams ( cam gears still loose) now install the cam lock bar. If you aligned the cams to the cam caps properly the bar should pop right on. With the bar on and cams loose follow the belt tensioning process.

You will want to check the timing of the intake cams as well by checking the notches and counting the chain links.
