What to do with old exhaust?

I'm considering replacing my exhaust with a Milltek, however the question has come up what to do with the old exhaust ?

Shop says it cannot come apart they will have to chop it into pieces so I can haul it off and store it. They said they can reweld it later if needed to be put back on. Is this normal having to chop it up? What did you do with your old exhaust ?

I thought about storing it, but definitely did not have the space, so I just told them to junk it. Unless you are thinking about getting rid of your car in a year or two and feel like its worth the hassle of putting the old exhaust back on, I don't think its worth keeping it. Just my 2 cents

FWIW my stock exhaust is chopped up in 3 pieces. Pretty easy to tuck away in the corner of my garage.

selling the car with the stock exhaust is always better than a modded one

done it twice, took a hit on value

I'll rather say, potential customer prefers stock "unf*cked" car instead of modified )

Cut it and store it. I got back almost what I paid for my last Milltek when I sold it.

Gave mine to a friend as there was no interest... He's going to make a side exit exhaust for his Vw caddy van
