Removal Multitronic transmission Audi v6 3.0 cabrio

    Hey guys!

I'm about to pull the engine from this cabrio which is mated to a multitronic transmission.
I always chose to pull engine and transmission entirely because it's much easier.

Now I've pulled a lot of engines with manual transmissions but never an auto.

I've got everything disconnected I think, but I have no idea of what is the best way to disconnect the "shifter" thing from the transmission.
What parts are all connected and do I need to remove before I can pull it?

    Thanks!

There is a cable connected to a lever on the drivers side of the transmission that needs to be disconnected. On the 5spd tiptronic it is a real pain. I am not sure if you can get access to it without first removing the trans mount bracket (this is waaaaay easier on the B7 6spd tiptronic). You can also try removing the cable from the underside of the shifter linkage but this is about the same level of pain in the ass. You would have to remove the driveshaft as well as the heatshield above it in order to see the underside of the shifter. It's a plastic housing that you would remove and then disconnect the shifter cable from by removing a clip. You will be doing this blind so good luck.

Thanks for the reply, that gives me a good idea of what to disconnect and what not!
The car is FWD so might be easier to get it undone at the shifter, just remove a bit of heatshielding.
I'll have a good look at it tomorrow. Thanks

We got it out, removed the small hex bolt which connects to the shifter, horrible to get to? YES haha.
    Thanks for the tips!
