    Oil Change - Boulder Valley

    Guys

New S4 owner, looking for a recommendation or two near Boulder Valley. For now, just need an oil change but want to find a new "home" for service up here. I'm @ 24k miles but out of warranty (years) so I don't mind a qualified Indy shop. Appreciate the recommendations. I've read a lot of different threads but trying to sort through the 58 pages of options that started 4 years ago got my head spinning.

I'm hoping that there is that "obvious" choice - everyone says "take your out of warranty S4 to XXXXXX shop"

    Thanks Fellas..

And say hi if you see me - white '11 S4 with Whispbar rack, tinted windows and the titanium wheels/package.

I am all about DIY. An oil change is extremely simple. No better way to really get to know your vehicle than to turn your own wrenches.

I have not enjoyed most of my experiences with Boulder shops, unfortunately. The most recent being bent over for a rear wheel bearing replacement at Modern Specialists (tech said they would replace both sides, only one side was replaced and the cost of the part for one side exceeded what I would have paid for bearings for both sides if I had purchased the kit).

I use Berg for the avant (B5 S4) for jobs I can't or don't want to do myself (not so convenient to Boulder, but they are fantastic) and I always do my own oil changes as it is such and easy and simple job and a lot cheaper DIY than paying a wrench. You can even drop off your used oil for free out at the county recycling center off of 63rd and Arapahoe. Imported Auto parts on Pine will have the filters and the synthetic oil you need for this job.

Good luck. Maybe try Slipsteam.m (http://slipstreamautocare.com/?page_id=4) I used to use them years ago when I had a 5000tqa and they were pretty good, but very difficult to get into.

Appreciate the sentiment and was a DIY for many, many years. Unfortunately I travel extensively on business and have wife/kids @ home that I'd rather spend time with than changing oil (they are too young to teach yet).. That time in my life will come again - but it's not now..

Read it. Very out of date and lacks context. It's just a 5 year running list of shops. I'm looking for current (mid year 2016) recommendations for service.

This is what I did.. Not my preferable long term solution.. I'd like to find an Indy mechanic for service/repair.. I'll use Berg for mods I don't DIY - great rep.

B8 S4? Real talk - DIY oil extract from the top takes ~10min
    Buy this: https://www.autobodynow.com/products...actor-abn-4337
I got mine for $12 on Amazon.

No mess, don't have to lift car, don't have to replace the crush washer.
You said you don't have time but my 7yr old nephew could do the oil change on your car in under 15min

Edit: sorry if I came off dickish, but it's super easy and it was quick enough to make me regret paying my mechanic $20 to do it lol
