Just picked up a chipwerke from a member in another Audi forum and I can't wait! I've been going back and forth on keeping my car and I've decided I'm gonna keep it for a bit longer. Excited for some more power!

Let us know how it works. Personally I've been skeptical about a plug in chip like that and looking for an unbiased review

When I had mine it was awesome. Be sure you power cycle your car or reset through vagcom your codes that way your car can relearn with the chipwerke installed. Living in CA we only get 91 so Murat said i should run 4-1 at the max. At 4-1 you can tell a big difference. The pull was amazing. Never got any cel's or any misfires. It was a great buy.

I don't expect it to be as good as a true tune but for 1/4 the price I think it will do ok for now.

There were other issues like the trans not behaving properly, that's the main reason everyone was ditching them.

Several months in on mine and still loving it! As others have said, not as good as a true tune, but it's 80% as good for 25% of the price.

what setting are you running? did you feel it right away?

I installed mine this morning, running it at 4-1. reset all the modules before driving it, drove it and felt nothing? Drove it a bit more and couldn't tell? Just drove 170 miles home from seattle and still can't tell? It kinda feels faster but at the same time I'm not sure? I just felt like it would be more of a kick in the pants?

@seanentrust: Now that's it's been a few days what do you think? Still nothing noticeable, or? :-) Sub'd, as I'm also keen on reading more feedback on these.

I definitely feel it up top. It rips from 5000rpm till redline. It goes from 60-90 really quick! I still don't know that I feel a ton down low but maybe that's to be expected. I think it's hard to judge the power on a car that is so smooth and quiet.

Those who are more in the know, please correct me if I'm wrong/offbase here: I think you're right on the money and I believe that this is precisely how it's supposed to work - adding oomph to the high end of the band. IMO there's plenty of juice in the low end with the stock motor; it's from ~5k up that you feel drop.

I'm really interested in trying this out. (Yes, a "real" tune is "better" and is something I would like to do eventually, but in the meantime I might as well have some good clean fun, right?)

Yeah I've heard stage 2 is where you get more low to mid range power.

It's definitely nice having that power up top. I picked mine up used. There's always a few floating around for sale. Any 3.0t will work. Mine came from an sq5 guy.

Based on what I know, the Chipwerke is manipulating the data the ECU is receiving so that the ECU does not start blowing off boost at 5K rpm which is what happens with stock programming. Since the boost is not beeing bled off, you are going to feel the extra perfromence at the top of the RPM range. This is exaclty how a Stage 1 tune feels. When I first went with my GIAC stage 1, all the performance change were in the top end.

I jumped to Stage 2, which, with the change in the pulley and additional programming adjustmens, brings the lower end power on.
