As I plan to keep my 2015 for a long time, I took heed from many posters on this board and bought an Audi extended warranty, it was Platinum version . It runs 8 years from today to a total of 89400 miles. $ 100 deductible with some exclusions such as wear & tear. Not mentioned in advertising material is an exclusion for ring wear and repairs to fix oil consumption. As I have had my car for 9400 miles with no oil consumption , the hidden exclusion is not a bother. I sent the seller a screen shot of my odometer and a scan of my registration . By phone I gave him a credit card. In two days I recieved my Audi warranty. It was purchased from an Audi Dealer in Ma. There was no sales tax even though I live in a sales tax state. Saving me an additional 6.3%. Cost was $2707. I realize that my car has factory warranty. Until Nov 2018, but now I am good until July 2024. It would be an expensive gamble to go past warranty w/o extended warranty as my car has both DSG & Sport diff. I asked the shop Forman at my selling dealer if is was worth doing? At the time we were looking at an electronic glitch in my B&O system. He told me replacing that system would cost $5000! The glitch went away so far not returning, like many Audi electronic glitches.
My selling dealer would not even match the quote. Not enough money in it for him . The dealer who I bought it from sent cover letter saying his price was so low because of the volume he does. My dealer wanted at least $1000 more plus sales tax, nor did he tell me I could wait just until 10000 miles before purchase as he tried to sell warranty when I bought the car in Nov 2014. PM if you want the info about where to buy .
