    How to find out which Maf?

    I have a 2001 audi S4, build date of 05/2000. I have a different maf housing and cant get any good part numbers off of the maf sensor. it has early style intake mani and badges. would I have hitachi or bosch? aswell looking for a new wiring harness, this is why I'm trying to find this out

    Bosch if your s4 is the older style of logos.
    But if you change out your wiring harness you could possibly switch over to the much more reliable hitachi MAF. But that might require to change out the Ecu unless you have a tuner who could change the ecu from bosch to hitachi

    You can use a wiring harness from either Hitachi or Bosch cars, you would just have to wire the MAF correctly according to this. Also, you have a Bosch car. All early style cars 2000-2001 (before 01.5s) are Bosch MAF, as for swapping to Hitachi the reliability thing is overstated vs the Bosch so as long as your MAF works correctly I'd leave it as it.
