Plugs and coils....?

Hi all,

So the poor old bus is starting to idle a little lumpy and all other service elements are up to date currently.

It has 109k on it now and runs beautifully other than the slightly lumpy idle.

What plugs and coils do you recommend for a DIY job this coming weekend? Might also do filters....

Not sure I would replace any coils. If it has the original plugs though they should be replaced. I believe the OE plugs are NGK double platinum BKR6EQUP for the v8. I would go with those.

Thanks. I assume the Laser ones are the better of the two?

I'll go grab some tmoro and try to get them in despite the 106' weather!!

Laser platinum is NGK's name for their double platinum plug. It has a platinum electrode and a platinum pad on the electrode.

If I were to change the coils. what would you guys use?

I'm sure they're getting old if not worn and I might do them anyway,

Plugs = changed. Oil = changed. PCV Valve = changed. Engine air filter = changed.

Done.

Back to being as smooth as a cheerleader's legs!!
