Nearing the end of my rope with my car.

So it's been a long journey trying to get my car fixed. Have the Apr K04. Currently it still occasionally goes into a limp mode and I can hear the diverter valve flutter. It's had a new one put in, valves cleaned, runner flap delete installed (opted to get rid of flaps cuz I kept getting codes for the flap motor) it has had a new ecu put in. The limp mode and diverted flutter still kept randomly coming back (sometimes it didn't). After leaving it at the shop for 3 days and having parts thrown at it, the shop even threw up their hands and they can't figure it out. I'm trying to avoid taking it to a dealer, but at this point would it even make a difference? Is there resources a dealer has that an Audi tuning shop wouldn't?

The codes that keep popping up on p0089 (already replaced in tank fuel pump), p0237 and p0642.

Is it possible a bad boost pressure sensor can cause the dv to not actuate? Everytime my car goes into limp mode, the do starts to flutter.

unless your car is bone stock I seriously doubt the dealership would even give you the time of day. not to mention they will charge a ton of money to possibly come to the same conclusion.
It is frustrating that the car repair industry is one of those rare niches that they don't have to provide customer satisfaction with an outcome. "you keep giving us money and we will keep trying.. no guarentees to a fix or your money back "

Its because nobody wants to pay for diagnosis, so shops play parts darts.

Maybe your wastegate isn't adjusted properly? Or your N75 is bad. Both could lead to limp mode. But without any codes then its really hard to know exactly what the issues are...

the problem is Charles that customers don't want to pay for incompetence. Is it the consumers fault that tech A is very good and gets to route cause in an hour , but the person who went to tech B took 6 to diagnose same thing and is charged for it ? its a tricky area.

Oh yea I totally agree. I think consumers just assume because cars are all electronic these days, you can just plug your ODB thingy in and the car will tell you what to replace. And its reassuring for customers to hear their $400 went towards replacing things rather than "figuring out the issue". It sucks for consumers even though its what they demand, but it also sucks for shops as they don't really have time to properly diagnose stuff because the customers don't want to pay for it. Then when you get a particularly tricky issue that really doesn'require proper diagnosis time, and the shop is forced to simply replace parts the customer gets pissed when that didn't solve the problem.

Its created this catch 22 system where its really hard to do a good job as a tech and please the customer while still fixing problems without burning time you can't charge for diagnosis.

P0089 is often misdiagnosed as the fuel pump. I think, but I'm not certain, it's usually a failure of the pump controller not the pump itself.
