Steering wheel indentation - Looking for replacement/repair options

I am looking at a used (non-CPO) S5. It is almost new with less than 10k miles. All looks good except the steering wheel. It has indentations at the bottom left. Not sure what would have caused this?

Looks like maybe it could be a steering wheel lock? Something was definitely clamped down on it

I don't see damage on the bottom left. I see some on the bottom right.

Anyways, bottom line is you can just replace the wheel. Have them knock $1k off the sale price if that's the only issue

Seen the crazy videos of people flying out of cars after failing drifts out in Dubai. People there are nuts.

Anywho, about the indent. Do you guys think a watch being strapped to the wheel could cause that if it was tightened enough? I'm curious if the indents would ever come out, and if a good cleaning would fix the color difference.

I was thinking if there is anything underlying. E.g if lock, parked outdoors for a long time
    Or something else

Car looks good and has 37 months left in warranty.

Could have been for hand controls for a driver with a disability.

By the look of the damage, only option would be to replace the wheel (as has previously been said, at a cost of circa $1k).

You can get the wheel re-trimmed for a fraction of the price of a replacement wheel. This also opens up the opportunity to have some nice perforated leather on there.

Probably should link this to my other thread about cars from auction.
This car is sold by a non- Audi dealer (vw). The car comes from an auction. Possibly repo?

Does it honestly matter, repo or not? If the title is clear and the car is under warranty just negotiate a lower price for the damage to the wheel and replace it.

Found out some more info. The car was leased at: THE COLLECTION Coral Gables, FL (https://www.thecollection.com/)
On a 9 month lease. Not sure if that is a concern or not. Obviously, the place is not a traditional Audi place.

I like perforated leather in general. Wish there would have been an option for the middle section of the seats...

I have become of this steering wheel....

Trying to figure the most cost effective option to repair/replace.

Could it be actually be repaired? Re-trimmed? If so, who does work like this? I am in the Chicago NW burbs area.

    bump...

What steering wheel options do I have? For example is there one with perforated leather? E.g. from RS5? Other models?
    Are there repair/reskin (online) shops?

When was that picture taken? I love the car phone from 1990.

I would look for a used a/s/rs5 steering wheel...they pop up in the classifieds from time to time. Have you tried eBay? This one looks promising.
