    Power Steering Hose Help, Please.

In this illustration, when reconnecting (low pressure) return hoses #14 and #13 to the fluid cooler loop #15, does it matter which hose goes to which cooler nipple? I can't imagine that it does matter, but I did have hose #13 burst shortly after connecting it to the top nipple on that cooler line after a PS pump replacement. I'm about 98% sure I put it on the same way it came off, but I could have switched them. I suspect the hose was already compromised because the car was involved in a front end collision a couple of years ago and was possibly crushed at that time. The car was idling with the wheels straight when the line burst. Very odd.

I doubt it makes a difference pressure-wise. Factory routing may put less strain on the hoses though.

From what I found on the Jim Ellis Audi site, it looks like your #14 connects to the top port of the cooling loop #15. You may want to verify that with your specific year and engine combo.

Diagnosticator mentioned this in another thread that the factory oriention is the proper way. It makes it easier to bleed air bubbles out of the system. Makes perfect sense.

Thank you. That diagram is the one I was searching for. I see now that I did have them reversed.

The one I posted was labeled 2.7. Which is odd, because I selected 3.0 in the drop-down box on their site. Looks a lot like the 3.0 though, doesn't it.

Power steering setup is similar on both. This diagram pits into perspective why i couldnt figure out how the power steering line runs. Its on the opposite side when comparing is to the 1.8t
