Next steps I am thinking about:
- Shadowline trim (going to try to wrap it) - may also put on the stock black rocker panels (is there a name for these?)
- P3 Gauge
- Potentially coilovers as I would like a bit more drop and unclear how long the stock shocks will last with the H&R OE Springs
- Always have my eye out for a new set of wheels - I love BBS and like the current setup, but I like a more concave look and the silver ring around the wheels is not my favorite.
I have one question for the group that I noticed the previous owner asked briefly about as well. After doing as much reading as I could on here (as not to ask a dumb question), I cannot figure out the current warning that I am receiving: "Coolant Level Low - Turn Engine Off Immediately" - here is everything that I know and have tried:
- The light comes on intermittently, first after an hour drive, stop to get gas, comes on after I start the car back up - now it comes on 75% of the time when I start the car and never goes away, I have driven the car probably 200 cumulative miles with the light on (all small drives, ~10 miles)
- Coolant temp gauge never goes above the middle (I realize that there is a wide window where the temp gauge stays in the middle, but it has never gone beyond the proper limits)
- Coolant level is fine and do not have any leaks
- Coldfront system is working as it should - (coolant is flowing properly)
- Fans rarely come on
- Engine oil temp stays around 212* during 90 degree summer heat during freeway and city driving
- A/C blows ice cold at all times
Does anyone have an idea of what it could be? I was thinking thermostat (seems odd that the car would run fine for this long if this was going? most of the threads around this topic didn't lead me that direction), temperature sensor (coolant level light wouldn't be the right warning?), waterpump (system seems to be flowing properly?), is there a coolant sensor on these cars as part of the expansion tank, could it have gone bad? Air in the system throwing this warning would be odd? Edit: Forgot to mention - car was tagged TD1 by prior owner so trying to avoid taking it to the dealership! Will head to a local Audi shop if I cannot figure it out myself.
Thanks in advance for the help and I am looking forward to getting involved on the forum!
