Insulation for door trim inlay to prevent buzzing & vibrating?

My S5 came with the upgraded dark wood trim with the aluminum edge like the carbon inlay has when I got it. No idea who would pay extra for the wood but it is what it is. I knew it was a easy fix so I switched to the aluminum trim that comes on the S5/S4'ss a few months back. The base aluminum trim doesn't have trim on the edge like the prestige trims and it is far lighter, since well it's just aluminum covered plastic. So since it's so light compared to the original upgraded trim I had it will "sometimes" buzz or creek a little bit especially from being in low RPMs with the exhaust & the V8 in low RPM.

Now granted its not extreme but its annoys & distracts me sometimes. I was thinking lining the rear of the trim with some dynamat or something that will sturdy it up a bit since it's so light & the trim is so easy to pop out. So I am guessing a few thin layers or some insulation should do the trick?

I've never used dynamat, figured someone would chime in here. I love the look of the trim, I would just love to insulate it a tad to minimize the sound.

Some felt will probably do the job

Ah, that's actually a good idea. I'll grab some from the fabric store. Before the dynamat route.

I wonder if the aluminum trim originally comes with a thin piece of felt on the rear side, I doubt it though.

But I have seen in the past in my B5 S4 that some trim or dash pieces will have some sort of felt on the rear side.
