    VCDS-Lite on 2010 A4?

    Hi all,
I just bought a 2010 Ibis White A4 to replace my tiring 2001 B5 S4 and have a quick question concerning VCDS lite:

I'm able to establish and SAVE the connection under VCDS Lite (Com Port 3), but when I go to scan the engine I receive a message "interface not found."

    I am using VCDS Lite.

I just want to scan for any potential codes since it's a new car and I know nothing about it yet. Any ideas on what I can do to get it to properly scan? I've used this exact cable (blue Ebay) on my S4 for both scanning and reflashing, so I know it works. Ideas?

The VCDS lite does not have CAN network capabilities (which is needed for your car) , http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds-lite/

Ah. Ok. I was a little quick in posting my first message.

I also downloaded VCDS (not the lite version) and was not able to connect through any of the ports when testing, which means I was not able to scan. I updated drivers on the USB, for which I was prompted upon installation, but still no luck. Ross-tech says I'm running the right software for the car... Any suggestions with running the 15.7.4 version of the software and having these issues?

do you have a genuine ross-tech HEX+CAN USB adapter, or just a generic adapter?
Generic adapter with VCDS-Lite worked on some of the older model Audi/VW.

For B8 you need the genuine ross-tech cable. The software is free but only works with a genuine cable.
