    Audi better get us an update for CarPlay if Kia can do it!

    For Kia cars dating back to 2014, they are getting the update to use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Time for Audi to step up, cut the BS, and get the update out to us 2016 owners.

    It's a software update to almost every vehicle after 2015. The system just has to have high enough specs to handle it and I would be very amazed if the Kia made in 2014 had higher specs than the Audi MMI.

    Keep in mind desire = costs them money, it's going to be a business decision for them at the end of the day and they may choose to make the 17+ models more attractive.

    Not a great decision mind you, but there you have it.

    For Kia, this press/differentiation is probably worth the costs, for Audi -- well not so much, while it will do a heck of a lot for customer goodwill I don't think a potential Audi buyer is walking away over Carplay (I could be wrong)

    I have Apple CarPlay in the Q7 and to be totally honest it's about in the same category as the Apple Watch; It's nice to have, but not really necessary.

    With that said, Audi won't go back to update cars. They would rather you buy a new model with it already.

    audi has been testing this in a software update, its still TBD if they will release it, at least according to the audi tech center
    2019 S4, Quantum Grey, Magma red, Presitge, Black ops, Sport package, Driver assist, Dynamic steering, Carbon mirrors and spoiler, Xpel XR ceramic 35%, Alcantara flat bottom wheel w/ RS paddles, Alcantara shifter, TAG reflectors, APR Stage 1, CTS testpipe, Resonated Miltek, P3 gauge, KW H.A.S., ECS Intake scoop, ECS Carbon intake, ECS Intercooler with charge pipes, ECS Carbon engine cover overlay, ECS Carbon ECU cover, O34 trans insert, O34 rear sway bar, HRE P101 20x9.5 ET35 w/ 265/30/20 PS4s

    My SA just called me about the same. She said they are testing it on the C7.5 as a software update but there are too many related things on the MMI that are getting fucked up. So most probably it would end up being a whole MMI update. No ETA yet though.
