B7 A4 2.0T fsi engine knocking, cam tensioner noise...

Good morning. This is my first time asking a question. Please forgive me if I screwed up protocol. Here we go.

    History: 2006 B7 w/ 155k, auto, very well maintained. I drive 70-90 hwy miles a day.

Problems #1: Driving one day and lost compression. Car started shuddering very badly. Note, earlier in the week, I noticed a slight tapping sound that would go away after about 20-30 seconds.
Fix #1: Changed out the spark plugs and coil packs.
Result #1: Car started up and ran great!

Problem #2: Drove to work the next morning. Got to work and heard a very bad tapping/knocking noise. Sounded like the cam tensioner area
Fix #2: Sure enough the Cam tensioner was broken. Changed it out according to a DIY posted on here. I used all OEM parts and tools recommended for the job.
    Result #2: Same noise, if not worse...listen to video. Codes p000a, 0011, 0301, 0302, 0304. p0016 cam up briefly

I would greatly appreciate any help I can get.

I may be wrong but maybe you didn't align the cams properly when changing the tensioner? Sounds like it may be out of time. Did you also change out the chain?

I'm no pro but been dealing with chasing ticking/knocking down as well so here's a few suggestions/opinions:

-It sounds like theres some air suction-make sure you didn't leave hoses off.
-I know you said you used the adjuster tool but theres quite a bit of play when its installed and you are messing with the polydrive (at least on mine), did you mark the chain or count the links between cams to double check its going back on like it came off?
-I would have to assume you looked for any remenants of the chain tensioner pieces and also checked the screen filtering tensioner oil?
-Did you notice the little plastic o-rings that are very brittle on the protrusion on the cam cover that inserts into the cam adjuster? ...you didn't break those did you?
-I know the P30x codes are missfires obviously due to missfires but not sure of the others offhand since I use VCDS I don't pay attention to the P codes. I would check if they are related to the timing being advanced or retardrd.

This is a few things just kinda throwing stuff at the wall to offer suggestions to consider before the pros jump in.

Good luck! -don't worry it comes off a lot easier the 2nd and 3rd time!
