    Time to do some logging

So again to thank you guys for helping me get my car running again.

I had an idea to get some logs from the car but dont really know what to log. I would understand to grab some temps and rpms. But i really dont know what to do with vcds. I have a hex can cable and little netbook to log with but never knew what data i should be looking for.

My problems still persist with some hesitation and some strange abnormalities like slightly higher oil temp while driving now. Even though its in spec i think. Wenever it reaches this temperture the car doesnt move like it does say when the oil temp is at 180F. At 220F it isnt nice. The rpm gauge ticks forward when its hot, not a consistent smooth travel but when its cool is smooth.

So just a few things to log would be nice. Thanks again guys

There are many threads already that talk about what groups to log. But off top of my head look in , timing, afr, fuel trims, temps, inj timing, grams per second, oil pressure, boost pressure ect. Could always get uni tune or the other software and play w unisetting or the other software stuff. Like adding timing , fuel ect....

Havent logged yet. Ive needed to learn a little more through vcds. Its pretty nice for software. I did some basic readings at stand still after a nice drive and my gauges do not match my electronic readings. My oil temps were 97c(206F) on vcds and almost 225 F on the gauge. So i take that the gauge is misaligned. Ill also assume that is normal temp. My coolant sensor in the cluster says 30c and the engine says 93c

I can't remember which blocks are what anymore (maestro logs) but if you think there is an issue with boost, log actual vs requested boost (if you are 7.1, 5.5 doesn't have a MAP sensor)
