    Low boost/limp mode after Tune

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm having issues since being tuned. Running at 2psi. Replaced n75, DV, boost leak test, scanned (no codes). Would boost like it was tuned then would drop to 2k. Now, since getting exhaust installed it now never boosts like it should and is in limp 100% of the time compared to the 75% it used to be.

Turbo was inspected and looked good (did not look at wastegate though).

Eurocustoms stage 2, apr r1, test pipe/ape stealth exhaust, k&n drop in filter.

I'm waiting to hear back to see what the next steps are - if that's running a log and having the tuner look at the log, or have the shop (which is an Eurocustoms dealer), inspect the wastegate.

Posting to drum up any other ideas or suggestions. Could the tune itself be faulty? I just dropped about $2k into this in maintence and would hate to need a turbo replaced. It worked fine and pulled hard before the tune.

    Thanks!

Have you tried to test operation of the turbo by running a MBC (temporarily) or bypassing the N75 (cannot remember exactly how to orient the lines to allow of 'unlimited' boost) - this will let you know if the turbo can physically boost past the pressure you are seeing.

Saw your post on FB Tri State... First off do not buy that guys Chinese knocked off K04..... Second, have you contacted your tuner? I bet they could easily check to see if the requested boost is where it should be.

Ive been following his situation on facebook as well. He doesnt have VagCom and has gone the "parts darts" route. Log the requested boost and N75 duty cycle. See if the tune and turbo are trying to boost.

    I'll join the tristate group.

I only replaced the n75 because that was what Jon (guy who is a dealer/mechanic for eurocustoms - in Etown, PA) thought was the issue. He had same symptoms along with the other tech there running the same tune. A new n75 fixed both their's. He said if it didn't correct the issue, he'd swap it and not charge me for it. I had him check for the codes before the part was ordered and there was none.

I had a bailies DV30 in, which have been known to have issues of getting stuck, so i got a good deal on the apr r1 DV. I didn't mind buying that because it came with 2 stock DV, the R1 and an n75 valve (with 20k on it). The guy had a handful of parts and he just sent them over to me with the DV because he didn't need them. (TYVM @temp0935).

I contacted Ryan Horn last week about all of it. He responded and let me know how the n75 and DV swap goes. If not it goes to logging. I sent him a message last night and waiting to hear back from him.

On a side note, does your tune account for the TP/exhaust you installed afterward?

The tune does account for the test pipe, as it was installed before it was tuned. As far as the rest (catback), I was informed that wouldn't matter because the test pipe was there prior to the tune - so it was tuned already to account for it.

    Update:

Everything works now. The new n75 valve was apparently faulty. Swapped with a different one and it worked. Also, the day it was tuned (when first noticing the boost issues) he went to bypass the n249 valve. However, he didn't cap one of the lines (I asked him about this later and stated that it's a loop anyways and didn't need to be capped). When I dropped it off I asked him to put it back the way it was and swap n75s. So, the problem was either the n75, the vac line off the n249, or a combination of both. Regardless, we're back in business and thanked him very much for his work diagnosing the issue.
