    Farewell to my RS4.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Here is a video I made as a tribute for my RS4. Some people say I am being overly dramatic, its just a car, who cares, but this car felt pretty special to me. I've met many friends through this platform, and I couldn't make it to the track/drag strip with this car but had a lot of fun with it.

Good luck with everyone else's builds, and I will be lurking on this side of the forum now and then, to check on the TT builds (lol) and see what happened to that dip shit.

Thanks to everyone that gave me advice and info early on, and of course all the DIY'ers that has posted here in the past.

May Rennsport be with you always,

    Kohei

I'm going with a B8.5 S4 with 19k miles on the clock, Ice Silver (bleh), APR stage 2 tune/Pulley/Stage 2 CF intake, okay VMR wheels and H&R sport springs. It has the basics that I would of done anyways.

The reason is that I didn't want to DD the RS4, and noticed many owners had theirs as their second car/weekend car. I have limited parking space in my condo, and I need a car that I don't feel bad putting miles on and throwing shit in the car. The RS4 felt too special for that, and with my low mileage, I hated putting miles on her. Also the back seat was smaller than the B8 and the baby seat is a very tight fit, causing the front seats to go all the way forward and still rub a little bit (baby Recaro's).

The car is in pristine shape, especially the paint and my preventative maintenance care I have done. I like to think my mods were tastefully done and not over the top, which my philosophy is clean and aggressive, coming from my JDM back ground. And I'm a CF whore as well. My plan was to track this car and done all the fluids, and have a extra pair of BNIB hawk pads. I needed to tweak a few more things before I was going to take her, and a good S4 popped near by, from a private seller. I wasn't sure if my car was going to sell, but I had overwhelming interest on it, and sold fairly quickly than I expected. I was planning on a last cruise with my local RS4 guys in August, but that is not going to happen now.

Like my previous BRZ, it seems like I do have that "build the car up and sell" bad habit. I'm not sure why.

I'm looking forward to building my S4, and hopefully not going fucking nuts again and end up selling it for something else. I really hope I can keep this car for a long time as my grocery getter, until I decide to buy a house with a garage, then I can have my second toy car.

I would have to admit that my BRZ was more fun to drive and engaging, but the RS4 had a better quality build feel with rawness, which is pretty impossible to find now days.

    Thanks for sharing your story.
I sold mine to a great guy locally, but i missed it a lot. Got my house situation done and i started looking for another RS4. I was able to buy mine back from him after 9 months and only 3k miles. Yea, about the same price too. Would i do it again? Hell yes.

    Farewell to my RS4.

Sounds like you have your reasons, and nice job on the BRZ btw. Seeing your pictures makes me miss the PNW, I be up there at one point again I am sure! :) good luck with the new adventure/project. Same thing for me, mod the shit out of everything, including the wife's car.

Well I made back home at midnight! What a long day that was.

So I'm the guy who bought Kohei's beautiful RS. Don't worry guys, the car is on good hands and you'll definitely be seeing it around the forums for the next few years

Thanks again for the amazing purchase experience. Its often nerve-wracking flying out to another state to buy a car, you never know what to expect once you see the car in person. Lets just say that everything you told me was spot on. I drove off with a grin on my face.

The car's now here in the Bay Area where it will be living in the near future

I can't thank you enough man! Glad to have met you and enjoy that new S4

I get the baby seat thing, but too special to put miles on? So you sell it to someone else so they can put miles on it? Makes no sense. I'd rather enjoy the car by putting the miles on it. Cars are meant to be driven.
    No longer my "DTM" S4

Congrats on the sale as well! Enjoy the S4, I made the opposite move from a B8 to the RS4. Both great cars, but very different at the same time.

Great video! Thank you for sharing. Also, I had no idea that Oregon was so beautiful. I need to visit soon. Can you tell me a little more about the filming locations, including the street scene where the cars are parked in that shopping area, and the road cutting through the mountains next to the river. Thanks!

I think the scene you're referring to is when they were in the German-ish town of Leavenworth in Washington (state). It was during the annual German cars get together. The road along the river is highway 2 leading to Leavenworth.

Thanks! I've always wanted to be better at video editing, I hope to take a class soon just for fun. I can always use video skills for my own business as well.

The footage was taken at Leavenworth as Quan stated, but Oregon does have good scenic drives and photo shoot spots.

Its the hot spot right now!

Congrats! Definately frustrated because he put it up for sale as a teaser than never wrote back. I ended up buying a different one and then a month later it went up for sale.
