Inaugural Fall Dominion Raceway Drivers' School - September 17-18, 2016

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

Welcome to our inaugural Fall Dominion Raceway Driver's School sponsored by New German Performance (NGP) and Criswell Audi! After regrettably having to cancel our spring event, this will be our first event at this new track that promises challenges, thrills, and lots of fun. The event is your chance to experience a brand new racetrack that's close to home. We will use our standard format of four student run groups that drive 100 minutes/day in four sessions of 25 minutes each.

    Signed Up!

I signed up for this event. This will be my first HPDE event. I have a stock B8 A4 but planning on making the following swaps before the event:

    - Flush brake fluid with track fluid
    - Track pads on existing OEM rotors (swapping rotors afterwards)
    - SS Brake Lines

Being my first event any other pointers people can provide?

Does anyone know if family/friends can come and watch?

Be like a sponge. Listen and do exactly what your instructor says. Leave your ego at the door, you will be caught by folks in lower horsepower cars, let them pass.

Your brake mods should be adequate. I ran similarly in my B8S4.

What tires you running? All seasons will degrade in grip quite quickly when they heat up.

Make sure your balance weights on rims are covered by aluminum tape to secure them when the wheel heats up and the adhesive gets soft.

Remove your center hub covers, they will likely melt off.

Make sure coolant is topped off. (Distilled water + Water wetter)

Bring extra quart of engine oil to top off between sessions

Read up on optimum tire pressures, you will start out lower than you think COLD, so when you're HOT, you're at the right pressure.

I am signed up for beginner class and have a quick question.

I have a 3/4 inch crack on my windshield on the passenger side. It does not obstruct your view at all, its in the corner. Does anyone know if this will cause me to fail tech inspection? You cannot feel it and its not on the edge of the glass.

Is repair acceptable or should I get whole windshield replaced? Dealer quoted about $750 for a new windshield installed. Not sure how much insurance would cover of that. I am a little apprehensive putting in aftermarket windshield.

I'm not sure about the acceptability of the repair. A new windshield no question, would pass.
