Passenger high beam not working - changed D1S, but no luck

High beam for passenger side has not worked in a while. So I finally bought a new D1S and installed it tonight. Unfortunately high beam still does not work. It does work on the driver side.

Headlights are stock except for LED drls.

I found the following thread and was wondering if anyone has experienced this issue as well - flap for high beam? or am I following the wrong trail here?

As much as I was not planning to spend extra, spending extra for a new set of headlights peeked my interest if I can end up with newer style led strip but still retain "motorized" feature.

    Thanks

No more shady mechanic bills and excuses - oil top off before an oil change is normal or dealing with outdated forums that have image size limitations. And no more dealing with vendors that do not provide horsepower numbers but sell you random things by labeling them as performance parts. No more dealing with the Audi dealership and having to buy custom Audi specific tools. Wow. I can't believe I lived through all of this. Money pit.

Since the RS4 has bi-Xenons and dipped beam works then it's not a bulb or ignitor problem, which suggests it must be either the flap or a wiring problem.

The shutter (flap) may be stuck. In my case I found a broken wire going to the shutter.

    Thanks guys.

Do you happen to have a picture of the broken wire? or which wire it was? It sounds like I have to take the headlight out for this fix then?

Yes, you would need to remove the headlight to make that repair if it is required. There will be two small wires coming from the solenoid (attached directly to projector) which actuates the flap/cutoff shield. If those wires are broken, detached, or otherwise damaged, you will have no high beam.

If the repairs are unsuccesful, hit me up. I have a set of DOT headlights that function perfectly for sale, I replaced mine with e-codes when I bought it. We can work out a fair price if you're interested. All theyd need are your ballasts swapped over.
