Hey guys I have ano annoying problem now with my air bags. Yes I know crap happens when you stick to the air spring setup. But this is not an issue with the bag it self leaking. Someone at some point had over tightened the fitting and stripped out the threads almost completely out. So is there any way to fix them or am I screwed buying a new bag this week.

Currently waiting for tow truck on the side of the hwy 😐

There is a lot of discussion about this problem on this site at this thread: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...nsion-fittings

I modified my Arnott Generation One front air bags very successfully.

The Voss fittings were barely holding in due to possible thread damage to the bags and it concerned me that the fittings could come loose when I am a long way from home and not near a repair agent.

I silver soldered the original Voss fitting onto a brass 1/8" female union. The male thread of the fitting was coated with high strength two part epoxy adhesive and permanently screwed into the bag. When the adhesive cured I screwed a 4 mm Norgren Pneufit M fitting into the 1/8 union to take the 4 mm air line.

I am confident that the air line connection is now very strong and will allow easy removal and re-installation of the bags.

unless you mod the fitting like hobart did, you're going to have to replace it.
no amount of Teflon tape is going to help

Amazing thanks so much! I spent days looking for a thread like this. I just dropped it off at Eurasia in Edmonton so hopefully they can do the mod if not I will have to get it towed home and do it myself.

Buy a new bag from Arnott and get the lifetime warranty. Mine was stripped like crazy and since it's my main family car, I sprung for the new bag and haven't looked back. Worth every penny. Took me a few hours if I remembered correctly but I also did the upper control arms while I was in there.

This is the one I bought: https://www.arnottindustries.com/par...24_gid954.html

Ya I talked with the shop and they are going to replace the fronts under Arnott warranty. I'm just paying the labor which is basically the cost buying the bags and doing it myself.
