    Cooler AC

I noticed that in my 2002 Allroad the AC is not the best. I just recharged it and the best temperature out of the vents is around 68-70 degrees. When the car is moving maybe couple degrees less. It is super hot in texas now, 100+ everyday and it just can't keep the car cool at all. I don't have any climate control codes and the AC fan is spinning just fine. In my 2008 535i the AC is frigid and can keep the interior very nice. Is the Audi one just not as efficient? or is the compressor going out? I did hook up a gauge set and high side pressure seemed ok, but I am no expert.

What does everyone else get out of the vents temperature wise in 100+ weather?

Refer to a PT chart for r134a and see what your low and high side should be at around 100f

Then you can determine if you have restriction or faulty expansion valve or etc.

I have 55 PSI lowside and 320 psi highside, which is what it should be.

I don't think you can get much more than 30 degrees below ambient. Do you have recirculate on?

I cleaned my condensor and radiator with foam cleaner the other weekend and blew it out with compressed air. It can only help. Many people forget about this over the years. The airflow gets reduced over time and less heat is dissipated from the refrigerant as it passes through the condensor.

I looked at the condenser and it looks relatively clean. I will clean it just in case.

Clean cabin filter? Clean(ed) evaporator coils? Clean and oil the fan motor--it may be spinning at a lower RPM than you may believe.

My vents are in the low 50s on a 100F day on the S6.
