Question Quick question about using Motive Power Bleeder

I've never used one, so I just want to make sure I do this right...
I am putting on 4 rebuilt calipers and changing to SS brake lines.
The Power Bleeder procedures indicate that one should first connect the bleeder to the reservoir and pressurize the system without any fluid in the bleeder to ensure there are no leaks. However, I'm worried that this may just push the old fluid into the empty space in the new lines and calipers and drain the reservoir too much and introduce air into the system or master cylinder.
So, shall I just skip this initial test and go for a full bleed?
I only have 1L bottle of fresh fluid, so I hope that should be enough.

    Cheers.

I cant answer the first part, but you will definitely need more than 1L of fluid to flush are refill. I would have at least 3 liters handy.

Thanks, but isn't the total system capacity 1L? I think I'll pick an extra liter to be safe, but 3 sounds too much.

I got 4 half liter bottles for my two brake flushes, ended up with one full and one partial bottle left. I'd have 1.5-2L of fluid available.

You will be in the area you just disturbed (at each caliper), so my thought would be no need to do a separate leak test unless you have reason to believe it's necessary (based on the condition of the rest of the system). I'd just do the full bleed like you were thinking.
