The climate control on my car makes a loud clicking noise when I adjust the passenger (left side) temperature knob for a while. On looking at VCDS, it said "Actuating Motor for Temperature Flap; Left (V158) Lower Limit Exceeded / Mechanical Failure / Upper Limit Exceeded".
So I decided to pull apart the HVAC system and find the motor. It was a PITA, and the cogwheel which controls the temperature flap was quite tough. I decided to swap the motor for it with an easier to reach motor (footwell vent motor), as they're all the same.
Now it seems however, when I turn the temp. knob, the footwell vent is moving, and the changing the vents is changing the temperature flap, and everything is screwed.
Does anyone have experience with this sort of stuff, and how you can reprogram the actuating motors?
Thanks
