    Quattro Rear/Mid Under Car Vibration

Recently picked up an avant quattro. I've noticed that I'm getting a vibration or noise from the mid to rear of the car when the car is loaded (two people in the back seat) and on uneven surfaces. Went to my parents tonight and parked on the grass on when the car would shift or jerk the sound and vibration could be felt underneath the back seat.

I'm getting a vibration from the front on tight turns, but I'm assuming that is axle related and that is coming from the front.

Maybe drive shaft support bearing or something?

Any advice on places to start would be greatly appreciated.

Could very well be the drive shaft support bearing and/or the ends of the drive shaft. Happened to me. Local shop got the parts to rebuild the drive shaft as the bearing was burnt out and the ends were falling apart. Granted, mine had over 300,000 miles on it. Figured it got worn out due to miles over age. Would be something your local shop should check.

Thanks for the input. I don't have any of the typical bearing failure noises that I read about, so hopefully it's something else. The car also has blown suspension and all the control arms are bad. I'm hoping it's something related to that.

Bad suspension can also be an issue. Check the wheel bearings while you're at it. Take care of those things you know need replaced first and see if the issue remains. Then check the drive shaft and bearing support.
