Anyone know how to get this adaptor to work with rns-e?

Hi I got this aux adaptor for free from yard near me was trying to see if it would work with rns-e but with no luck.
I tried it with my stock symphony II worked fine.
Not too sure what's missing seams to work directly though cd changer.

Anyone know if this could even work though cd changer on rns-e?

When I got my aux cord I had to code with vcds for it to work, try that and see if it works.

I believe you code it, and have an extra aux option
Though the big connector on the back can do video too with tv in.
I found out the adaptor I have is dice and it integrates functions to the cd option
When I tried it on my symphony II
I was able to change songs with the skip buttons and fast forward didn't try to figure out much more but it worked fine .
It's different with the rns-e I found some stuff online. Mostly people trying to add cd changer .
Not too sure what it wouldn't work with rns-e I'm trying too look into how the harness adaptor I have from rns-e to my oem harness is different. Or maybe missing right pin.
The adaptor seams to work when I play it senses it's there Dosent show volume bar and instantly starts playing.
Just No controls or audio and Dosent show on rns-e.

I had a SAT Ipod adapter that worked great with my Symphony 2 and 2+ but didn't work with my RNS-E and even worse, it did something weird to the wiring or signaling and caused the amp to stay on constantly. I found this out by having to jump start my car 4 times in a week....

I reverted my car back to S2+ before I sold it and just sold it with the iPod adapter installed still since it didn't work in my b7 at all...

I believe what happened is you may have had the wrong harness.
There is a extra pin/wire installed in these harnesses for Bose equipped cars.
If you install harness with the Bose pin on non Bose Applications, I can't remember the specific details but I know it causes problems, draining battery might be one of them. If I remember right might have made the audio quality sound worse also. When I ordered mine I made sure to tell the Ebay seller I needed the non Bose harnesss. (My car is 2002 a4 non Bose)

If you still want an Aux input, there's an eBay option for a good price. I pieced mine together about 5 years ago and probably spent twice that.

I swapped the pins and it didn't make a difference. My iPod adapter was designed to be installed in the sat receiver area in the trunk so it wouldn't have interfered with any of the wiring at the radio which was why the issue was strange. My ISO->quadlock adapter was just fine. When I unplugged the iPod adapter the battery drain stopped so it was the iPod adapter not the wiring converter I recoded as well and made no difference.

    I see
Well I don't see why the one I have wouldn't work it uses the CD player instead ?

So I found out today that it can work with symphony dice harness no re-pining or anything.
The rns-e wasn't reading the dice on startup, I disconnected the ground and reconnected it (Turing dice adaptor off then on and viola it showed in the rns-e iPod control functions and everything!
It worked as long as the rns-e didn't boot down completely, after boots down completely dice would new to be reset for rns-e to read it again.
So I just hooked up a toggle button in my ashtray out of the way (of ground wire) to switch the dice on and off.
Not too sure about amp draining issues, but will find out in comeing time when the car is running.

I am not familiar with the RNS-e, but the quadlock connector is wired mostly the same as the Sym II+ with a couple of different connections in the harness adapter. On the Sym II+, the AUX input is wired directly to two pins in the quadlock connector. Next the coding is adapted to enable the AUX input. To use the AUX input a suitable interface connection needs to be provided on the end of the AUX cable that fits the AUX audio source, iPad or whatever, with the audio source connected to the AUX input cable, the "CD" button is pressed until AUX shows on the HU display, or the AUX audio device name is displayed instead. Then adjust the volume levels on the AUX audio source and the HU. No Dice adapter is needed to use AUX input.

    Thanks for reply
Yes this is one way but one thing I wanted was to be able to change songs with the HU. With the dice adaptor I can do just that. I also like how with the dice the volume control is completely from the HU, no more messing with the volume on my device only to forget when I have headphones in my phone later and blast my ears off because it was turned up for the car to sound ok.
I had a old fake vag.com cable was able to program new key and do the fogs only and windows down and up with key. When I went to use it other day (for RNS-E) it stopped working vcds couldn't find it. Pretty sure it fried. don't know how never updated or anything. I'm happy with useing dice adaptor works fairly well for me. I just need a decent lighting extenchion cable right now I have one of thoes little 30 pin to lighting apple adapters. I'll do that and get a little female flush mount headphone jack extenchion to hook up so that I'm not just limited to apple products with lighting plug.
