It's not my HPFP whining after all.

Had this constant high pitched whine, & finally had some days off to let the dealership figure it out. After 3 days it turns out to be a transmission oil cooler line vibrating off of the heat shield. Said they adjusted the "spacing" B/W the 2 & put some "felt" on the transmission line. End result is no more whine. While I was there they also gave me a software update for the transmission to correct the hesitation I was feeling during my last "enthusiast" day of driving around Starved Rock IL. Feels & sounds soooo good again. LOVE that top down V8 sound.

So you kept hearing a whine but the wife was not in the passenger seat?
Glad the dealer was able to sort that out for you. Best regards to the Mrs.

Nah, the only time I hear the "whine" from the CFO is when she asks me if I want another glass of wine. I am truly blessed.
Not sure what the latest software upgrade for the transmission is but apparently one exists & I didn't have it but now I do.

Not sure what the part number is, but I'll shoot U a copy of the service invoice. Unfortunately yesterday the check engine light came on requiring yet another trip back to the dealership. They were able to get it in right away which is always nice and preliminaries indicate that there is a problem with the seal on the gas cap ?? It is either apparently worn, cracked or no longer seating correctly. Have to order the part and we are hoping it will arrive by Friday. A minor repair, annoying yes, but on the plus side I am driving a 2016 A8L. What a luxurious car, with a caverness amount of space. VERY nice!!
