Motor is over all very complete, missing just a coolant temp sensor, EGT sensor, and an alternator (which I have from my 2.8).

Also the stupid spider hose is cracked, but that is to be expected. Engine has 120k miles on it, got the motor with the accessories in the picture + ECU for $500. Not a bad day.

After a long wait, alas my hoist is here! Co-worker who picked it up 2nd hand had it sitting in his garage, and never got around to using it as he anticipated so I picked it up off him for $100. Should be moving right along now.

Got the crane into position



UP and out with the old 2.8!



Fucking exhausted...underestimated the amount of work this is with just one pair of hands.



And finally split the engine and trans. I put the trans in my front hallway on a pallet, tomorrow I will pull the heads off the 2.8 and then scrap the block.

Also found a set of free.99 downpipes and EGT sensors from my buddy, gotta go pick those up soon.

Got it in somewhat decent shape, it will be cleaned better this weekend.







Started to set the 2.7 down on the mounts! Just leaving it here because I have no garage... I'll crane it out when I work on it.

Nah. I've done the whole built 1.8 thing, they become somewhat torque less when you go high hp, don't get me wrong I loved my b6, 28 psi from a gt2871r was a blast, but I'm going for 400awhp + gobs of low end torque with this build, I always loved the 2.7 powerband.

Update! Traded my 2.8 heads for a Borla exhaust. Pretty stoked to have my full exhaust squared away. More updates to follow :)

I can dream lol. But I'm not a fast driver, in that I don't really go above 100, I like building my car for how fast I can get to 60 mph with a wide power band, I think this car will suit me well.

The B5 is decently quick at the moment. Still needs cranked up to see what it's capable of.

The B6 was retarded when I finished it.

Ahh, gotcha. I always wanted to ride in a car with THAT big of a snail.


1) Rebuild Spiderhose kit with Silicone tubing
2) Figure out if flywheel is still good
3) Order new coolant tank
4) exhaust clamps for the Borla, and Downpipes to catback.
5) Snub mount
6) Order new coolant temp sensor
7)Exhaust side turbo gaskets and nuts
8) Get a new Battery



This is my current to do list. This should nearly wrap up everything I need unless I run in to something. I cant wait to start this thing.


Also, this thing has about 1/2 tank of gas, god knows how old it is. I have a vac pump to empty the tank but what the hell do I do with the old gas?!

So I picked up a couple of interior parts today....going to get the rest tomorrow and this weekend.




Also got my clutch, pressure plate and a resurfaced flywheel. Labor day weekend is going to be a productive one :))

Ahhh those seats, so much want! I with the 1.8Ts came with electric seats so I could get a set of S4s and not have to do a ton of fab work.
