Considering buying a used S5 - what are my blackout options/costs?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am considering buying a used 2014 S5 in Black Pearl. It has the chrome windows strips, grey painted "decorative elements" along the bottom of the car on each side, grey rear diffuser,..

I am not sure that I am going to like the car this way. What options and costs are available?
    - paint or replace "decorative elements" along the bottom?
    - front grille?
    - rear diffuser, paint or replace?
    - chrome window stripes, replace, vinyl??

Considering buying a used S5 - what are my blackout options/costs?

Buy black optics front grill $600
    Vinyl chrome window trim $200
Buy carbon fiber side mirror housings $400
Rear diffuser paint or buy deval cf diffuser $700
Don't forget to get a pair of ecodes (euro headlights) to get rid of the Amber reflectors, OR get the amber reflectors vinyled

Btw what are the "decoration elements"? Any pictures?

Typically not so much. But the amount of contrast items seems to much.

Basically what I am looking at:

    Option 1: Buy new S5 @ 57k MSRP
includes the blackout option. Would need to deal with the rear diffuser

Option 2: Buy used CPO @ (priced) $44k
3 year old car: 2014 with 25k miles
Spend $2500 to remove the bling
Also would need to buy summer 19 wheels as the used one comes with 18 All season.

    Wheels:
I keep the wheels out of the equation as with either option I would need to buy a new set.
With the new one: Winter set
With the used one: Summer set + change tires on the current wheels with winter tires.
I figured it is going to be somewhat a wash between the two for the wheels.

I figure about a $11k difference between the options ($13.5K without the mods). Don't know what a fair price is for used S5, but I expected a bit bigger difference. Of course the options between the tow differ as well. $57 is priced out what I care for. Both include the sports diff. The 2014 is a premium plus.

If I were you, I would consider a Stage 2 Tune and exhaust first

DEVAL CF Rear Diffuser is way too aggressive for me, I went with their Valence Splitter instead and couldn't be any happier since then.

    Just my cents.

Does anyone have some insights when the us will switch to the new S5? The dealers tell me that they just are beginning to be able to order the 2017, which is still the "old" model. However, in Europe it appears that the new S5 is order able any day now. I am trying to figure out how long the window is for the current 2017...
