Audi B6 386cc injectors on AMB engine

    Hey guys,
just wondering if anyone experienced the same problem while installing the bosch 386cc injectors. (light blue long nose injector)
I am not able to completely push the injector into the manifold. i can't get a good view but it feels like the bottom oring doesn't go in
enough for a snug fit. i tried swapping the bottom oring with the original injector (dark blue ones) but got the same result. the injectors i bought came with
the o rings already installed. the bottom o ring is slightly bigger compared to the oem injector.
i installed the new injectors and screwed in the 2 screws for the fuel rail. i get no leaks at all. but im a little cautious because if i were to remove the 2 screws
that hold the fuel rail down, i will be able to pull out the injectors with very little force.

Has anyone else encountered this problem or is this just the way they are supposed to sit? and would spacers be of any help.

I use the o ring lube used in plumbing on all my injector seals. Always helps installation and removal easier from my experience.

You have to apply a decent amount of force for them pop in. I have the 386cc injectors with an APR stage +1 tune and I have the AMB head. Also, something that i'm experiencing with running the stock fuel pump is that i'm getting flat spots through the power band. I think this is due to the injectors being starved. So i'm looking into upgrading my fuel pump. I'm also running a little lean which is fine but i'm running more lean than I would like to. I would also look into replacing the fuel filter especially because the FPR is integrated into the fuel filter. I would buy some injector seats also. I replaced mine because they were brittle from all the heat. One of mine actually broke so i'm glad I bought some injector seats before hand. You might want to look into buying metal ones. Never will have to worry again.

It’s your APR tune. It’s old and outdated. I ran the same setup for almost 10 years and took the car to the dyno one day. Ran super lean and only made 172whp. I’m currently running 1000cc injectors on a stock fuel pump with a GTRS eliminator turbo w/ no issues and plenty of fuel pressure.
