8v s3 flat bottom paddle shifter steering wheel...straight swap to A3 with DSG?

I have a 2015 a3 Prem. Plus with DSG. I have heard you don't need VAGCOM. You can just swap the wheel and drive for a bit and it will figure itself out...is that correct?

I know they aren't the same cars at all, but I swapped a flat bottom GTI steering wheel with paddles into my Jetta TDI with the DSG and the paddles worked without VAGCOM programming.

So I would think it would be the same case with your car...

I was one of the first that did the swap and can confirm that is a direct swap with no coding involved. Well at least for US cars.

It's not a cheap mod but well worth it. The thicker steering wheel transforms the feel of the car.

This is so nice. Is this the Canadian S-line flat bottom steering wheel? I heard they get it in the S-line cars as standard. It looks way better than the S3 steering wheel. The US packaging is silly.

Checked, Canadian S-lines get that standard as well. Can source it there, maybe quicker...hmm ...thanks.
