A few people here have tried it, but I recall seeing several complaints regarding the shipping costs making this mod cost more than it's worth. That's all a matter of personal opinion. As far as the effectiveness, the amber marker is still visible from the front, but from the side it apparently does a good job of hiding the amber marker. I haven't personally done this, but this isn't a new topic to this section of the forum.

Headlight Marker Film Set - Gunsmoke

I spent $20 on them for my B8 during the ECS free shipping period. Tried a dry install and ended up throwing them right in the trash lol.

Haze is right from the side it looks decent but from the front it looked ehhh. I have a dark colored car as well.

They look better on the B8.5 maybe because the amber section is smaller? The B8 version has this little sweep that looked weird IMO. You'd have to see them to see what I'm talking about.

I'd go for a wet install for sure if you got them.

Make sure you want to commit to the buy. I bought these and after opening the box decided was not worth it. I ended up having to pay shipping both ways on it smh. Rookie mistake.

I have these on my B8. No Complaints. Easy to install and matches well with the black exterior of my car. Looks fine from the front IMO.

I used to have a very comparable film on my S5, not the ECS brand. The look is great in my opinion, especially for the cost, and especially on a darker color vehicle. The amber is visible from the front, but it is what it is. The amber is recessed in the headlight, if they enlarged the film to cover more it would look bad from the side and 3/4 view.

When installing the film, I tore it slightly in a single spot when squeegeeing it down. But I admit I might have been too aggressive trying to get those bubbles out. The tear was only noticeable if you knew it was there. After a year with them on, one of the corners on one of the headlights started to lift slightly, but it stayed on until the end. Again, I admit to not being too overly careful when say washing the car.

I bought a second pair to replace the original, but decided it was time for E-Codes instead.

Again, these were not the ECS film covers.

Here are some pictures of my car with them on:

The look really depends on how much light there is. Obviously, in direct sunlight you will seem more of the amber, in darker conditions you don't see the amber at all. This was shot during the afternoon with overcast.

    ugly. terrible, even.

It changes the shape of the headlight without fully covering the amber. I'd rather just rock amber.

Get ecodes, take them apart and wrap them, or leave it as is.

Guess I'm in the minority here, because the amber just doesn't bother me that much. I did the clear corner on my B7 because that was a big round ugly orange lens, but on this headlight it doesn't stand out to me. I've even studied it and tried to care, but I just don't.

but if I did care, I would not apply tint to the outside of the headlight assembly.

I installed them on my 2013 S5 yesterday. I also bought them when ECS had the free shipping deal. I will not spend 1k on ecodes so this was a suitable change. It looks better in person.
