    Brake Pad Replacement Recommendations

    Hi all,

Long time visitor, first time poster. I hate to bring up a topic that to some degree has been talked about, but hard to find a current conclusive answer.

It is time to replace the front brake pads/rotors on my 2014 S4 and I want to see what the best option is for going aftermarket.

I am looking for a setup ideally where I could feel comfortable with the rears aggressively on the street, heavy mountain driving, and the occasional track day. For the fronts I am looking for something that I can feel comfortable with aggressively on the street and heavy mountain driving for one, with a track set for the obvious. A problem I foresee with this is the rotors in the front will be likely have to be swapped as well which may change my choice on those as well.

I was currently considering the StopTech slotted all around however may opt for some cheaper options at least for the track set (if necessary). Considering the EBC Yellow for the rears for daily/track potentially but really looking for opinions. I am kind of at a loss for an aggressive biting front pad daily, and then from there the next step is figuring out the race pad. As far as noise that is not a concern (had brembo's on an srt8 prior which were constantly making noise), and brake dust reductions from OEM would be great but once again can deal with it for performance.

Accompanying the change is planned to be SS lines, and new fluid.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Why don't you get the ECS stage 2 kit? Seems like a good deal for the price especially if you are doing track days!

Seems like a good option, and a reasonable one at that. Would likely allow for me to something on the street side in the back for the occasional track day? Would I still need to swap race pads out in the front BBK?

I had this same problem 2 weeks ago. I went with Akebono's and ECS Tuning slotted and drilled. I love the 0 brake dust, 0 noise, and the brake feel. I honestly can't tell any difference between them and the stock so I wouldn't be too concerned about it.
