DIfference in Audi Connect between 2016's vs 2017's

Noticed that the 2017's RS7 includes 6 months subscription to Audi Connect while my 2016 RS7's Audi Connect is FREE period (no trial subscription).

Why is Audi charging for Audi Connect for 2017's?

Are there new functions to the Audi Connect for the 2017's that the 2016's don't have, hence the charge?

my 2016 s6's was 6mo trial with unlimited data, then 6gb/6 months, whichever runs out first.

Didn't realize Audi Connect Subscription = AT&T Data Plan
