how to seperate headliner from sunroof

Hey yall. My headliner is sagging so I m trying to remove it. The diy on here is old and vague and the photos are gone. I have loosened the pillars and took of the sunroof controls, oh shit handles, the visors but it will not budge around the sunroof cutout. Do I just pull harder? It seems like the diy said I need to remove some sort of bracket from the top while the sunroof is open. Can someone elaborate?

There is a trim ring on the top side of the sunroof opening that clips into the headliner below it. The sunroof needs to be open to do it but use a small flathead screwdriver and gently pop the trim ring up working your way around it slowly. The headliner will drop right off if everything else is removed.

Not identical, but I put together a thread for the B8s. Maybe it will help give you an idea.

Gog that bitch out. And squeezed thru the trunk. Its look like its gonna be grand time trying to put it back on. Any tips on re installing the HL?
Somehow installation is reverse of removal just chaps my ass everytime I read that statement.

Unfortunately it really is just that though. Put headliner back in and put everything you took off back on. Instead of unclipping that trim ring to remove it you clip it back into place. I found it easiest to do from outside the car reaching in through the sunroof. I started in the middle of the trim ring and just worked my way around. After that I just put everything back on opposite of the way I took it off, cleaning as I went.
