May pick up a project, looking for OPINIONS.

I'm looking at a B7 A4 that was purchased from an auction. Car looks good, but don't know too much about it.
I do know it has an aftermarket header and big turbo, but is missing the ecu.
I assume the car should have a Tune, but would like to know if I put an OE ecu in, will the car not run correctly due to the big turbo?
Any other info regarding the two pictures I posted would be appreciated. Thanks.

That looks like it is definitely an upgraded turbo. If this thing is costing more than $600... walk away.

i'd say you're better off starting with a stock car and building yourself. this thing may become a money pit.... well these cars are money pits already lol.

This. Never buy someone else's unfinished (non-running) project.

    Didn't purchase it.
Looked at it in person though.
ECU was cut out, but did have nice coil over suspension and stasis exhaust and the body was clean.

I would buy it if it was near me. I have everything to make it run already though .

You have to thing someone didnt throw all that on an just turn around and walk away. My guess is they beat the piss out of it an with so many catastrophic isses thes have (cam follower, if 06-weak cam, oil pump problems) all which eat up bearings whether its top end, bottom end or likely both. If metal got in the oil that pretty turbo could be shot as well. At theat point you bought a shel, headers, and an exhaust and need an engine, ecu (programmed to the immoblizer-can get fun), front clip if it doesnt have it as in the picture, and a lot of time.

These cars can be had for about $1,000-$2000 frequently due to the problems so you need to think is your car worth that and are you looking for a big project that will cost a lot?
