S4 Badge - Trunk Placement Measurements

Need a favor boys:

Can someone get the measurements for where exactly on the trunk the "S4" badge exactly goes like from the factory?


In other words:
"S" is ___ inches from left trunk lid edge, ____ inches from bottom trunk lid
"4" is ___ inches from S badge, ___ inches from bottom trunk lid

or something along those lines.. any help is appreciated.

Edit: Just took these off my B8. Should be about the same for both 8 and 8.5 models. Hope it helps!

FWIW, when I replaced mine with black gloss ones (post)

I just taped off where they were stock with painters tape, pulled the old badges off, cleaned with alcohol and stuck the new ones on.

Saved me from measuring and possibly misaligning them

Just mask off the edges with painters tape. Much easier. I do this all the time.

You could've made a template too if you wanted to clean the area real well. Think smarter not harder.

I thought about it. Decided a template was too much effort.

It was easy enough to mask up the edges, peel off the badge, clean under it (you can peel up sides of the tape to clean better), then stick on the new badge.

YMMV but, that was the most effective solution for me.

Car went to the body shop, cement sprayed all over from construction site.
Thought body shop had these measurements/templates.. but then asked me for them, which is surprising given they are well endorsed by many forum members, including Detailer's Domain..

Trust me, it's the second time it happened to me too. I park in a lot for work next to a construction site where they're building high rise condos.

First time, a good detail and re-opti coated was able to help it, and they covered it quickly.

Few months later, same thing, but 10X more cement sprayed on the car. Majority of the car had to be repainted, and still need to get it re-opticoated.

Everything including the rental car eclipsed $10K+ in damages, car was in the shop almost 2 months.. a lot of back and forth on the blame game between construction company and cement company, and I got stuck in the middle. Now I have the challenge of my auto insurance carrier pursuing them for damage reimbursements so my premiums don't skyrocket on me.

Some positives though, the car is better than brand new right now. Plus I was able to get the V6T badges replaced with the Supercharged badges, easily a gain of 10 hp I'm told.
