ok, i currently have S5 18x8 wheels with 24.25 bottom of fender clearance, running 205/40r18 toyo Proxies. they have some stretch but not crazy.

I am looking to purchase new tires with a bit more sidewall as i am over the stance life, i plan to raise the rear a little from the pic i have posted as i feel it is too low

Would 225/40r18 be a good choice? or what are some suggestions

    Thanks for help!

and an underhood shot, just because :)

225/40/18 would be a great size. They should fit no problem and are very close to 225/45/17, which is a stock size. Go for it
