HVAC Fan failed to work 3 times...up to now.

    Hello,

2012 Premium Plus. 78K plus miles no mods, well except my daily paint scheme. :(

My issue is the HVAC fan/blower. It has not worked three times within the past three months. The commonality is that all three times the temperature shown in the display was 96F-98F degrees and I had a sunshade all three times. This might be a coincidence...

I tried all possible HVAC control setting combinations and nothing worked except I did hear(feel?) the AC compressor work when I pressed the AC button. The fan works only when I have driven for a bit, maybe four to five miles.
Possibilities? Well maybe coincidence but... temperature has gone down below a "threshold" or the fan/blower is just going bad...

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Sounds like a blower issue if your getting no air. Do you get any air flow without AC on or are you just not getting cold air?

Sounds like the blower for sure. Check the fuse to see if it is not seated fully. May just replace to eliminate it as a possibility

    Hello,

So I kept on having issues with the blower. It worked on and off for the past 6 months and this past week it just stopped working completely. So I planned on replacing with a new one but before doing so, I decided to see if I could fix it. I ended taking the blower and regulator out and cleaned both with CRC Lectra-Motive Electric Parts Cleaner and a wire brush. I used the wire brush sparingly on the blower and more so on the regulator. On the blower I used plenty of the CRC spray cleaner. I then let both parts dry and reinstalled back in the car. Well, the blower now works and I will see if it keeps on working for the next week. If it stops I will replace it anyway.
