So on my way back from lunch AC just quit blowing cold air. It's 105 and not sure now what I can check...

It might be a bad pressure sensor or a leak somewhere. If it was I, I'd probably take it to an Audi/VW shop to have them scan it with the VAGCOM and see it there's a trouble code. If you do anything that accidentally evacuates the system or opens it to outside air you could end up spending more money than you expected.

Just scanned and got codes about the engine mounts, battery, remote not working, nothing about the AC....

When's the last time you replace the pollen filter? Check and see if it's clogged with buildup. I change them out every year or 15K to keep my climate control running in tip top condition.

It was replaced last November when I purchased it.

I'm at a shop right now and they are telling me it needs a new compressor and an expansion valve, $1200, if I add the timing belt to it it's about $1,970.00 ....

Anyway to trouble shoot if it is the compressor? Surely you can hear it fire up ?

I feel my ac is not powerful after about 30 mims of driving. When I fire it up it blast cold air, then after a while it's still cold but not as cold or powerful :-/

I thought our cars did that intentionally when the car is around the temperature you have the climate control set to? It definitely lowers the air output/fan speed when it comes to temp.

Mine was set to LO and max fan speed the whole way to LA (40 min drive), was around 102° outside and half way through the journey I started sweating :-/
