Needed an advice for shock replacement on my Audi A4 prestige 2014.

I changed my oem sport springs to H&R OE with original oem sport shocks. The ride at first is good but then 1 year later, I find it to be not to comfortable anymore especially on long drives and jumps on buckled asphalt roads. Now Wife also started to notice that the car is harsher than it was. I am planning to return it to stock since this is just a daily driver. No plans to track the car whatsoever. I was looking at Koni FSD or OEM sport shocks which are almost similar in price. I have been searching the forum for reviews but haven't really found someone using FSD on their s line sport springs. If their is somebody who is using this set up on their B8, please chime in your thoughts/ advice. Tuner shops also welcome to share their experience. I have been so grateful with this forum for all the information. I am not interested in coilovers since this is just a DD only. Thanks

I'm guessing you changed the springs but not the shocks out a year ago.

As I understand it, H&R springs are suited for Koni shocks/struts - like Eibach is suited for Bilstein. I would go with Koni in this case. People have paired H&R with Bilstein and have complained about the ride quality.

I personally have the Bilstein B12 Kit so can't offer any input on Koni's - I don't think you would be disappointed though.

Thanks for the input. I'm leaning towards KONI FSD just because I will be able to have both comfort and stiffness on cornering without adjusting anything. This is according to their description. Now I just need someone with this set up to tell me that this is accurate description before I make another bad decision.

I think his issue is replacing the spring and didn't replace the shocks. I've run Eibach springs with Koni shocks for the last 6 years with zero issues so your theory isn't always true.

Koni tends to ride a little softer just because of the way the damper is designed. The monotube gas pressurized damper bilstein uses tends to be a little stiffer but also provides an advantage in stability and control. I'm not sure about the Koni but I thought for lowered applications the recommendation is actually the Koni sport shock and not the FSD. For some reason, I thought I recall reading that the FSD was more suited as an OEM replacement shock.

Koni Yellow Sport shocks. Don't waste your time with FSD.

I'm going to be using the shocks with s line springs. Will be the KONI yellow sport to rough? I'm trying to achieve a comfortable ride if not better that what an OEM sline suspension would provide. But if not I'll just put everything back to original s line package spec and call it a day to be on the safe side.

Just basing this off of other people's experiences I've read in the forum and the little I do know about progressive versus linear springs. I don't think the OP would have an issue going either way, I've just read linear springs are better-suited for Bilsteins monotube approach and progressive springs for Koni's twin-tube technology.

The Koni Sport shocks have adjustable damping so you can pick the firmness.

They have the most comfortable ride of any aftermarket suspension I've owned, and that was when pretty low. Having them at stock sport suspension height, I'd expect out to be better than factory.

That's good to hear. Which settings to you have them on?

I think the issue people complaining just comes from the H&R springs themselves. They don't ride as good as the Eibach's. I've rode in them on my friends B6 and I thought they were not comfortable at all especially riding as a passenger.

I've not had them on my B8 so I can't give you that relevant of an answer. It's all personal preference anyway. I still have them on my Mk5 GTI though. Car rides butter smooth after more than 160k miles on them... and I even bought them used lol. I tracked the car and always kept the rear shocks and swaybar tighter than the front to reduce understeer. If installing on my B8 I'd prob start offer trying 3/4 turn from full soft in front and rear and tighten up from there as desired.

Needed an advice for shock replacement on my Audi A4 prestige 2014.

Ive had H&R springs on my Old B7 and they rode fantastic. But im on SoloWerks coilovers so i cant speak for them on B8 either.
