Someone has been scoping my car. What can I do to protect it?

Hey guys. So the past few nights I noticed that someone is scoping out my car. I'm pretty certain that there will be an attempt to steal it or at the very least, steal my wheels. My question is, how hard is it to steal these cars? I know the B5's were easy.

She's nothing special, but I like her.

On a side note, there are wireless trackers the size of a coin you can pair to your phone and hide in your car for about $30 with which you can track/find your vehicle. One that comes to mind is Trackr. I don't know anyone who has one but saw an article on them recently.

That's why they invented insurance and they pay people to do that for me. I like the car, but it's not worth me risking my safety over it.

The trackers ur talking about are limited to the range of your phone Bluetooth. Dont waste money on that. If you want tracking, get a company to install and pay monthly.

Tell me about it. I mean there is only so much I can do. I'm pretty sure they've been scoping me for a while. Best I can do is take all of my personal belongings out of the car.

if they want your car they are taking it . best you can do is park another car in front of it to block access. That will not stop them if they really want it but may be enough to make them move on ..if they truly are scoping it though they will just wait till you make a mistake.

I'd put a camera facing your parking spot if possible with a "Smile" sign, will probably make him pretty uninterested.

I know APR has a function you can add (one of their special "programs" or whatever) that acts as an immobilizer-type function. IIRC, will prevent gas pedal response, or something like that, unless you enter the correct code on the cruise control stalk.

...Or, if that's your house, could park it in the garage

Have a hidden kill switch installed somewhere only you know so the car can't be started. Blocking it in doesn't sound like a bad idea and if they're that determined to steal parts/car a hi-def camera is a great idea. Place it somewhere that can capture both the vehicle and thieves while they do their dirty work.

Some of those camera systems can be had for decently cheap.

Also, maybe just stay up late at night, taser their asses first, and then ask questions later.

Set them up for failure. Place burglar traps everywhere and just sit back and play bait car! Reminds me of classic movie Home Alone.... The good thing is your aware of your surroundings. Many others are oblivious their cars are targets.

As someone posted above, if someone wants to steal your car, it will be stolen. However, if you put enough deterrents, the prospective thieves will think twice and might decide to look for easier prey. Here's my suggested theft deterrents: (1) Steering Wheel Club or Steering Wheel and Pedal Club, and (2) Wheel Clamp or Boot (as they call it in the UK).

Thieves will find your car less appetising to steal if it will take them so much time to do it.

So I confronted the guy yesterday. He drives a 09 WRX. I kindly stopped him and asked him what the deal was. He shows me that he and his son are playing Pokémon GO... I can't be mad at that. Kinda jealous little guy is a level 18 already and i'm only a 5..... Problem solved guys.

Also, no car is worth shooting someone or pointing a gun at someone. The amount of legal trouble and crap to deal after the fact is beyond ridiculous. If they were going to steal the car, I would just hope they total it...

It's part of my childhood. it's good to disconnect from the world for a bit to play and have a little fun feeling like a kid. I get the same way with TMNT and Super Mario.
